Precipitated Silica Market Size will reach to 2.9 billion USD in 2024
Precipitated silica is an amorphous silica. It is a white, powdery inorganic material. It is produced by sodium silicate and sulfuric acid/hydrochloric acid. The industrial process of precipitated silica includes four steps:
- Precipitation: Sodium silicate solution and sulfuric acid/hydrochloric acid are reacted in an agitated vessel to produce a slurry of amorphous silica particles.
- Washing: The slurry is then concentrated to form a filter cake. Then the filter cake is washed to remove the byproduct that is produced during precipitation.
- Spray Drying: The filter cake is spray dried to reduce moisture content.
- Finishing & Packaging: The dried precipitated silica will be further processed according to the desired demand. Then the final product is packaged for shipment in small bags, big bags, or bulk trucks or railcars.
This report covers the industrial chain of Precipitated Silica. Following are the industrial chain structure chart:
Evonik, Solvay, Grace, PPG Silica, IQE, PQ Corporation, Tosoh Silica, Madhu Silica, OSC Group and Q&C are global leading producers. The precipitated silica report also covers another 13 producers.
Precipitated silica is widely used in rubber, paint & coating, oral care, feed, food, cosmetics, pharma and other applications. Rubber is the most important application field of precipitated silica and accounts for more than 65% market share.
Global precipitated silica market size was estimated at 2.6 billion USD in 2018 and the market size will reach 2.9 billion USD in 2024, with a CAGR of 2.1%.
