Caustic soda, also known as sodium hydroxide, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NaOH. Caustic soda is strongly alkaline and extremely corrosive. As the main product of the chlor-alkali industry, caustic soda is mainly used in organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, alumina, pulp and paper, textile/rayon, soap and detergent industries.
